Vintage Wooden Sock Darner and 1948 Knitting Socks Booklet

We all know that socks tend to wear through the heels and toes quite easily and this is just as true today as it was many years ago...BUT then many years ago it wasn't easy just to replace those old worn socks with half dozen new pairs, HENCE, the sock darner comes into play... familiar and comfortable to use as you could grasp the handle while stretching the sock taut over the "egg" . This made it so much easier to repair the seams so that they could not be seen or felt. Darning techniques were taught to girls at a young age. This wooden darner with handle in excellent condition was a part of those days and measures approximately 6" in length. Included with the darner is the vintage "Chadwick's Red Heart Wool" 15 page leaflet of "Socks for Men & Women" This lovingly used booklet includes pictures and directions for knitting many different patterned socks. What a wonderful piece of the past is this large wooden bobbin used in textile mills many years ago. Solid wood and antique through and through it is a beautiful rich shade of brown. Although it has not been used for candles (no wax residue at all)... it would indeed be an ideal rustic candle holder sitting amongst your other vintage treasures. A beautiful pair of vntage grape design silver plated scissors In great shape and a wonderful addition to a vintage sewing notion collection. Included for more fun from yesteryear is a vintage Coats & Clark
wood bobbin with green thread and a partial packet of Milliards large eye needles made in England. All are treasures to last yet another lifetime! Scissors measure approximately 6 1/4" in length.

An absolutely beautiful vintage sweater sleeping bag for the precious little one or for my Nutmeg Hare friends who love vintage treasures! Raised flowers in pastel shades of pink and yellow grace the front. Detail on yoke adorned with flattened oval shaped poms and bottom pull string is also finiished with cute little flat poms that resemble needle felting..
Buttons down front are for appearance as the sleep bag fastens entirely with snaps for easy opening and closing. Sweater background design is unique with its large checkerboard squares with two different textures.

Laying flat the Sleep Bag/Sack measures 22" in length from the shoulder to the bottom, and 11" across from armpit to armpit.

Vintage Toggle Clasp

E-Z Buckle, Inc. was established in the '60's and offered this E-Z toggle clasp tab made with genuine leather. With an original price tag of 80 cents you know it has to be from yesteryear. The sale card itself is a piece of art for an avid seamstress and is in mint condition. Measuring 7" across the toggle clasp tab is both decorative and functional.

If it's vintage, Nutmeg Hare Loves it! ...an era to remember...Beautiful and lustrous pink round half dome clip on earrings from days gone by. Moonglow cabochons are adorned on one side by a leaf shape in gold toned metal and embellished each with two clear diamond like rhinestones.
Earrings measures approximately 1" wide and 3/4 high. CORO signature can be found on one clip's backside.
